This is a good little machine that is built to be a picker-upper, not to vacuum the entire house. It is powerful enough to pick up whatever falls under my daughter's chair and to broom up kitchen crumbs etc. In fact, I have been surprised how full the dust cup is after using. It seems to work well on carpet and hardwood/tiles but I have no pet hair to contend with. It loses a star for the cord which needs to be about 4-5 foot longer and for the plastic construction that looks cheap and that I'm sure would not survive being dropped on a tile floor.
